Women of Valor Symbol
The Women of Valor symbol represents the strength, unity and service of female military members. The purple petals reflect the blending of the American flag’s colors: red for courage and blue for honor. Each petal honors a branch of military service: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Space Force. The V-shaped leaves stand for victory, valor and veteran.
At the center of the flower, the white starburst symbolizes the clarity and purity of mission as female military members deploy around the globe and defended our freedoms, leading with strength. Nestled within the starburst, the gold star honors the women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Together, the white starburst and gold star represent the enduring courage, leadership and sacrifice of women in the military, lighting the way forward for future generations.
